Hypnosis to motivate you for life

July 7th, 2009

Life is a process that we all go through; we all tackle it differently and from different angles. However, life is there to be lived and not to be missed. Many people find themselves in a slump these days. Life has thrown them a few too many lemons and their lemonade has turned sour because of it.

You can put the sugar back into your lemonade and enjoy life, be motivated and do the things you dream of. Sometimes all it takes is a helping hand. Hypnosis can be that helping hand for you. It can help you get back on top of the world, where you deserve to be.

Get up and go

When life drains you of your get up and go spirit, it can be hard to get back on that horse and keep going. It can even become difficult to face each day as it comes towards you. However, hypnosis can help you regain your life. How? Hypnosis will help you change the way you feel, think and your ability to motivate yourself for life. Motivation is the key that will keep on pushing you forward even when things turn sour.

Motivation is what keeps you looking on the bright side of life. Hypnosis CDs or hypnotherapy sessions can restore your motivation and your belief in yourself. Are you going to let life pass you by and wake up too late? Or are you going to do something to motivate yourself for a better, brighter and happier tomorrow for yourself?

Hypnotherapy Is Nothing Like Stage Hypnosis

May 21st, 2009

The majority of people know about stage hypnotists and that they make people do a lot of silly things that make other people laugh at them. The perception is that a hypnotist ‘forces’ people to do silly things against their will and this can also be against their morals. That is the furthest possible thing from the truth. A hypnotist can’t make a person do something that is against their will.

The person’s subconscious mind will simply reject the suggestion and the hypnotist would look the fool. People are also not asleep when they are in a state of hypnosis, it only appears that way. They hear everything around them and are not puppets on a string being pulled around. The problem is that stage hypnotists have given trained and certified hypnotherapists a rather undeserved bad name and this is unfortunate. Hypnotherapy is something entirely different.

No stage show

When a person goes to see a qualified hypnotherapist he or she will first have an in-depth interview. The therapist will first establish the reasons the client came to see a therapist and then determine what the client wants to achieve through hypnotherapy. Does the client have a smoking or weight problem that must be seen to, or is it phobias or insecurities. Does the client on the other hand want to attain a higher quality of life overall.

These are the important aspects that will be fully discussed with the client before the first session. Once one this has been established will the client be put into a relaxed state. The client’s own subconscious mind will then be used to address the problems and find the solutions. There is no coercion and there is no embarrassment. Whatever happens during sessions stays between therapist and client.

The layman’s laws of hypnosis?

May 13th, 2009

Hypnosis reaches the sub conscious mind in order to evoke change.  Hypnosis relies on the response of the person undergoing hypnosis and as each person is different, the results will differ accordingly.

In more traditional hypnosis, direct suggestions are made to the sub conscious mind and this method can work well for people who accept what they are told without enquiring too deeply.  Many hypnosis CD techniques are based on traditional methods, but it has proven itself ineffective for people who are either critically minded or who have analytical thought processes.

Because of this a type of hypnosis called Neuro-Linguistic Programming, or NLP, offers a more effective technique which works well with analytical or critical subjects but are techniques which can take years of training and study to perfect.

Instead of suggestions NLP uses the same thought patterns that are creating the problem in order to eliminate it and this type of hypnosis can be highly effective when used correctly.

Another type of hypnosis works with subliminal programs.  Usually recorded onto a CD it contains two different sound tracks, one is heard by the conscious mind while the underlying track is heard only by the sub conscious mind and the words contain direct suggestions which are repeated over and over again.  You don’t have to stop what you are doing like you would with traditional hypnosis.  However, subliminal programs are a lengthy process and are not able to entirely replace traditional hypnosis or NLP techniques. They should therefore be used only as an addition to them as these methods complement each other.

Self hypnosis is about empowerment

May 11th, 2009

Today there is no doubt that hypnosis works, but there is still disagreement on what it is and how it actually works.   The British Society of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis explains it as “In therapy, hypnosis usually involves the person experiencing a sense of deep relaxation with their attention narrowed down and focused on appropriate suggestions made by the therapist.”

What these suggestions do is that they help make a positive change within the person under hypnosis while they are fully in control, and in fact hypnosis can be self hypnosis where all the hypnotist does is help facilitate the session.  For this reason, self hypnosis CD’s are becoming more and more popular.

During hypnosis, the left hand side of our brain is turned off, this is our analytical side and what this does is allow the non analytical right hand side of our brain to become more alert.  Thus, we inhibit our conscious mind and awaken our sub conscious mind, which is a more instinctive force and which is the part we need to use in order to change our behaviour and alter our physical state.

So powerful is this state that it can help overcome deep seated fears, instincts and beliefs which can inhibit our life styles.  This opens new possibilities in life.

People who are ready and willing to change their lives will experience better and more meaningful results.  Even self hypnosis techniques which can be used at home or at the office show powerful results and can be easily learned and implemented safely and effectively.

The myths of hypnosis

May 8th, 2009

Most people you speak are still sceptical when it comes to hypnosis, but it is in fact a highly effective tool that can be used to help change the way we perceive ourselves, especially when our self image is distorted and unrealistic.  It can also be used to help us replace bad habits with good.

There a myth that all hypnosis is the same.  It isn’t, although there can be good or bad hypnosis. What is foremost in people’s minds is the ‘are you getting sleepy’ type of hypnosis of TV, film and stage shows around the world over many years.  This of course has no place in self hypnosis which is based on subtle psychological practices which include very advanced communication patterns that use encouragement and reward.

There are many people who believe that they will lose control if they are hypnotised.  What actually happens is that you become totally relaxed and totally focused and you are able to choose to walk away.  You are able to choose to give attention to the hypnotist and are able to withdraw whenever you want.

Unfortunately over the years hypnosis and self hypnosis has gained negative labels, due in part to myths and media reports.  In reality hypnosis is a tool which we should know how to use effectively to help change or direct our focus on life and our self image.

Permanently change your attitude towards food with self hypnosis

May 7th, 2009

Hypnotherapy is a powerful tool which can change the way our subconscious attitude views food, resulting in more control over bad eating habits which cause us to gain weight.  It will help eliminate snacking and emotional eating and help reduce portion sizes so that we do not over eat.  Hypnotherapy can help to retrain our choices of food, making sure we start eating more healthily and choosing more nutritional foods as well as motivating us to take up exercise.

A simple CD can change your life in the privacy of your own home and it can be listened to again and again, ensuring the message of motivation is relayed so that you can focus on your goal of weight loss while effectively changing your attitude toward eating.  The result will be permanent weight loss and weight control in the future.

Self Hypnosis is possibly the safest way you can lose weight, naturally and without the aid of potentially dangerous over the counter weight loss medication, or faddy diets that can be detrimental to your future health.  Self hypnosis can not only help you address your weight issues but can also help you get rid of bad habits like over-eating which caused your weight gain in the beginning.  The second step of self hypnosis will help you re-train your conscious mind, replacing bad habits with newer healthier beliefs and habits.

It is all about learning to feel positive again and losing weight goes a very long way toward helping you feel more positive which will ultimately help you make healthier choices in your life, long into the future.

What can you gain from hypnosis?

May 6th, 2009

There is far more to be gained from hypnosis that just a relaxing and rather novel experience. There are benefits to be gained for individuals, for the whole family as well as society in general. It is not a strange or illogical question when someone asks what benefit they personally can gain from hypnosis.

Unless you have been involved with hypnosis for a long time, you will not have enough knowledge to know all the answers. In a nutshell; hypnosis can be used to unlock your mind and bring your body to a greater state of well being. Through hypnosis sessions your body and mind can achieve optimum functioning. It can help you to achieve greater mental wellbeing as well as physically and restore balance to your life.

Benefits all round

The job of the hypnotherapist is often made difficult by common misconceptions about what hypnosis is, how it works and how it affects the patient. This is due to the many myths that have sprung up about hypnosis. Only once those myths have been debunked and fears set aside is the individual ready to participate. The state of wellbeing of each individual has an impact on his or her own life, their family lives and society as a whole.

It is all interwoven, and restoring balance to one person benefits everyone as a whole. Getting rid of bad habits, controlling health issues, restoring self-esteem and reducing anxiety and stress in one person, is beneficial to all those around him or her.

The list of problems, conditions and emotional issues that can be greatly benefited by hypnosis is virtually endless. We owe it to ourselves to improve the quality of our lives and hypnosis is the tool to achieve that.

Exploring self hypnosis

May 4th, 2009

Self hypnosis can be likened to a form of meditation because it is a useful tool which is used to achieve deep relaxation and you don’t have to have a hypnotist present.  Meditation draws on relaxation just as self hypnosis does, but the difference is that self hypnosis uses affirmations as part of its technique to manage stress and build self confidence.  It does by relaxing your body and stress hormones while distracting your mind from unpleasant thoughts.  This can be quite intense.  Self hypnosis CDs work on the power of suggestion, with affirmations of positive statements which we make to ourselves and which are based on rational thinking.

The affirmations which you choose depend on what area in your life you need to address, for instance you want to stop smoking.  You will need to find somewhere quiet and comfortable so that you can relax your body while you listen to your CD.

Close your eyes and imagine waves of relaxation running through your body, washing away stress. You will feel your muscles start to relax.   Once you are completely relaxed the affirmations and suggestions are able to penetrate your sub conscious.  Each session should last between 15 and 25 minutes and the result is that you should be able to see how effective these techniques are immediately.

Self hypnosis is a practical, highly effective and safe way to change the self image we have in our subconscious minds.  It can be used over and over again in the privacy and comfort of our own homes.
