Conquering insomnia with hypnosis

There are two types of insomnia. The first type of insomnia is primary insomnia. Primary insomnia is caused by something that we can understand. For instance, a cause could be a bad habit or even an uncomfortable bed. Secondary insomnia on the other hand has its roots in medical causes such as depression, alcohol abuse, grief and stress. Transient insomnia is something that lasts for a period of no more than 2-3 days or 2-3 weeks.

Whatever the type of insomnia, or the cause, insomnia has the power to drain your life and affect your levels of concentration, energy and enjoyment. Persistent insomnia has also been attributed to mental health and depression.

This is where hypnosis is offering a natural yet powerful and effective tool in conquering insomnia. Hypnosis uses techniques that teach relaxation, plus focuses on what the reasons are for not being able to fall asleep. Hypnosis will help you once again control your sleeping patterns. Using positive thoughts to relax your mind and body is the root of hypnosis. What results are feelings of confidence; you are more organised and healthy. A healthy mind is equal to a healthy body when it comes to sleep.

Being able to identify which type of insomnia you suffer from will ensure that you are able to take whatever actions are necessary to conquer it. Music enhances hypnotherapy

Music is an integral part of the lives of most humans. It makes us happy or sad; it excites us and soothes us. So it is understandable that music can play an important part in hypnotherapy. The type of music that is most beneficial for hypnotherapy is not normally played over radios as it has such a soothing effect and puts people into a relaxed trance.

This state is called the alpha state in which you can block out surrounding elements. In the alpha state, inner awareness is heightened. To understand the alpha state better it is easily explained to liken it to what happens when someone watches TV for hours.

The time goes by without being aware of outside influences. It is when the person is within this state that the hypnotherapist can do his work.

Session and self-help
