Losing weight through hypnosis

September 28th, 2009

There are many overweight and obese people who have tried and failed in their attempts to lose weight. Traditional methods are at times not suitable, or don’t produce the required results. If this is the case perhaps it is time to consider hypnosis as a means to losing weight.

Not actually a science, hypnosis works by means of attaining a comfortable state of being which, in turn, opens the doors to successfully reaching of one’s goals.

The first technique in hypnosis teaches visualisation. If you are able to visualise yourself removing unwanted weight effectively, this creates a mental image in your mind. The second technique works through subconscious messages.

Hypnosis is effortless to follow, and you don’t have to use too much effort in succeeding your goal.

Stress is a common reason for many experiencing trouble in losing weight, and yet, through hypnosis, stress can be lessened and replaced. There is nothing mysterious about hypnotism for losing weight. The mechanisms used in hypnosis focus on the state of mind and attitudes we have toward losing weight.

The first thing to consider is that a person has to be willing to - or at least be open to - the idea of losing weight. If one is using the services of a therapist they will first examine motivations and then help you come to the realisation and acceptance that it your behaviour that needs modifying.

When this is possible, then the desire to do what is suggested while under hypnosis will be there. Once acceptance is in place the physical act of losing weight can begin. A therapist will implant positive suggestions that work on the psyche of those being hypnotised, which result in a desire to engage in good eating behaviour.

What is hypnosis and how it can change lives

September 25th, 2009

In 1958, the American Medical Association approved hypnosis as a medical tool and is today taught in many universities. Hypnosis is safe. It works on a naturally altered state of awareness that allows or follows suggestions in order to accelerate the learning processes in the subconscious mind. Hypnosis allows us to re-educate our minds and, in doing so, helps us take whatever actions are necessary to overcome barriers.

Today, hypnosis is trusted and is a vital element of the natural healing arts. Millions of people around the world are turning to hypnosis everyday to help them overcome blockades in the mind that stop them achieving their true potential. This could be as simple as losing weight or stuttering.

Everyone can be hypnotised, yet some more than others make good subjects. You don’t need to be super intelligent to be hypnotised either, and whether or not you are strong willed, hypnosis will still work.

Contrary to popular belief hypnosis is far more than deep relaxation. Under the care of a skilled hypnotist you will be in a deep hypnotic state within minutes. You are extremely relaxed, yet you are in a state of increased awareness at the same time. Hypnosis cannot take over your mind.

There are three levels of hypnotic states and you lightly float from one state to another. There is the light state, the medium state and deep state, and each one has their own symptoms. How each person manifests these states differs. When the hypnotherapist brings you out of these states however, you are sure to feel like a completely different person.

Hypnotherapy offers a solution for many of life’s problems

September 23rd, 2009

Apart from self improvement, hypnotherapy can help mould and improve our minds and lead us toward a more fulfilling and promising life. It opens up a window into the mind with the power of suggestion.

Hypnotherapy is making great strides in helping individuals with their sex lives, for instance, and is also helping people gain self confidence before pubic speaking and other stressful events. It has also been known to help people attract people to them in the dating and love department.

Hypnotherapy can reach deep into us and help stop dangerous habits such as smoking. Yet, apart from smoking which is dangerous, hypnotherapy has helped alcoholics and drug users kick the habit before it destroys their lives.

There are documented reports in hypnotherapy being used in pain management, and has helped women through the childbirth process painlessly. It does this by inducing such a relaxed state in the person that pain is no longer an issue.

Hypnotherapy is also being used in criminal law cases. In respect of victims or witnesses, hypnotherapy is helping recall events and details about the situation and those responsible. However, it is still a gray area as far as its admissibility in a court of law as it is considered controversial.

Apart from habits, self confidences, pain and truth, hypnotherapy can reach a deeper level by getting to a root cause of our troubles. Those unable to control their anger or those that want to hurt themselves or others are being helped by hypnotherapy. Finding the cause of issues buried deep in the subconscious can be brought to the surface, reconciled with and let go.

Hypnotherapy brings a new lease of life for many people who are held hostage by their own minds.

The use of regression through hypnotherapy

September 15th, 2009

Hypnotherapy when used is an effective way of overcoming conflicts, habits or emotional trauma. This is a technique that will help discover and access creativity and personal potential, and in the process will aid in releasing negative ideas or habits. Hypnotherapy is able to take control of emotions and our mind, and in doing so changes our lives.

Hypnotherapists use regression in order to get to the root cause of underlying problems buried deep in the subconscious mind. It uses the conscious mind to retrieve them as everything we do or say is recorded here.

In order to look forward it is often necessary to look back, and this is exactly what regressive hypnotherapy does. With the help of a therapist, hypnotherapy is able to uncover events which are the cause of - or basis - of issues that need resolving. For instance, an issue might have taken hold as a result of mental or verbal abuse as a child. The child grows up with a negative attitude towards themselves as a result. Hypnotherapy uses regression to take a client back in order to reconcile with these events and, as a result, can move forward.

It is necessary that a client totally trusts their therapist if optimal results are to be achieved. A therapist must also conduct these sessions in an unhurried manner and must take the client’s wellbeing into account at all times. As emotional events are brought to the surface, they are dealt with then and there, and are evaluated and reconciled with during regression.

Hypnotherapy is able to pinpoint what event is the initial cause and, when conducted correctly and professionally, has helped many people uncover and move on with their lives in a positive manner.
