You were not born a smoker

November 24th, 2009

However early you started smoking, you were not born a smoker and you don’t have to die a smoker.  The majority of smokers in the UK want to quit and never start again.  If you have tried to stop smoking, you will know that when you stop, you don’t crave every cigarette that you had previously smoked.

Let’s put this another way.  When you give up you will notice that there are certain times you really, really, want to smoke a cigarette.  For some people it is after a meal or with a drink; for others it is when they are driving the car and for some it is when they have put the tea on and they are waiting for it to cook.  Whenever it is, if you add them up in a day they certainly do not equal the number of cigarettes you normally smoke.

This is because we are in the habit of lighting a cigarette at these times; it is part of our normal routine and behaviour.  Our smoking habits are actually far more of a problem when we try to stop smoking than the actual nicotine addiction, and it is our behaviour that is most likely to be our downfall when we try to quit.

As an experienced therapeutic consultant who has helped thousands kick the habit, Rick Collingwood is only too well aware of how strongly ingrained in our subconscious these habits are and how difficult they are to change.  He uses mild hypnotherapy in his hypnosis CDs and MP3 tracks to help you to restructure these automatic habits, so that they react in a totally different way to the situations that would normally make them light a cigarette.

Want to quit smoking? Read on

November 13th, 2009

According to a recent health survey, 66% of all the smokers in the UK want to quit.  Every week thousands are attending clinics to try nicotine patches, replacement cigarettes or chewing gum that the NHS recommends.  Unfortunately, very few stop smoking.  Yes, there is a percentage that manage to quit, but what if you are one of the ones who have tried and failed?  You can end up believing that you are too weak-willed to stop smoking or, even worse, deciding that you didn’t really want to stop at all.

Smoking is bad for your health and the health of those around you, but it is such a hard thing for us to stop smoking.  An interesting comment from Rick Collingwood is that we were not always smokers and that’s what we need to remember.  He offers hypnosis sessions through his remarkably effective CDs and MP3 tracks that have helped countless numbers of people kick the habit and never light another cigarette.

The reason that hypnosis helps you to stop smoking is simple; when the mind is relaxed it is less resistant to change than at other times.  Rick’s system uses this and introduces an idea into your mind that means that every time your mind says that it wants a cigarette, you respond by doing something else, without even thinking about it.

The nicotine cravings actually go in a surprisingly short time; it is our minds or rather our habits that get in the way of us giving up successfully.  Conquer the mind without even thinking about it and you conquer the habit with hypnosis CDs.

How hypnotherapy can help you stop smoking

November 11th, 2009

Hypnotherapy is not the stuff that TV programmes and cabaret shows are made of, it is a highly-scientific method of altering behaviour used in the medical profession by rigorously trained therapists.   The basic idea of hypnotherapy is that it relaxes the subject to such an extent that their minds are receptive to new information without their natural resistance to change getting in the way.

To stop smoking is difficult because it involves retraining your brain not to respond to a situation by lighting a cigarette.  It is not just nicotine smokers who are addicted to the habits that we develop as smokers that are just as addictive, we simply don’t realise how strong they are until we try to change them.  If you have ever tried to stop smoking and failed using nicotine replacement; you may have noticed that in certain situations you reach for the cigarettes. This is exactly what we are talking about.

It is our mind’s expectation of a cigarette in a particular situation that is more difficult to overcome than nicotine.  And this is the reason that people who have stopped for years at a time suddenly find themselves lighting up again.  Our subconscious mind is so powerful that we can often struggle to resist it.  Thus, we need to retrain our mind from the minute we give up in order to achieve that non-smoker status we are trying to achieve.

Rick Collingwood’s hypnotherapy CDs do exactly this and have helped thousands not only stop smoking but retained their minds to stay a non-smoker, too.

Nicotine is not the reason you can’t stop smoking

November 10th, 2009

If you believe the adverts selling you products to help you stop smoking, you would think that it was simply the nicotine in the cigarettes that has you addicted.  Unfortunately that is not true.  Yes, smokers are addicted to Nicotine and the cells in our brains do cry out for it, but if that was the complete answer we could all just stick on a nicotine patch and never want to light up again.

Thousands of people have tried patches, chewing gum and ‘pretend cigarettes’ that give us the nicotine, and some manage to stop smoking but most are back buying another pack of cigarettes before they know it.  The nicotine has been replaced but they still haven’t become non-smokers, so there must be more to it than nicotine addiction.

There is and Rick Collingwood, an expert in therapeutic solutions to problems like trying to stop smoking or losing weight, knows exactly what is going on and has devised a brilliant programme to help us help ourselves.  For years he has worked with individuals, but then he realised that he cannot help everyone in his one-to-one sessions.  So he has developed a method of teaching us, individually, his techniques.

He simply trains you to react to wanting a cigarette by automatically drinking a glass of water.  If you think it sounds bizarre, rest assured that thousands have tried it and have not lit another cigarette.

Stopping smoking is too hard

November 4th, 2009

OK we all know that smoking is bad for us, every packet we open tells us that it can kill us.  Smokers know that their breath smells and their clothes reek of cigarettes.  We know that it is costing us a fortune.  We know all the reasons why we should stop but we still find ourselves standing outside the local pub, our workplace or our friend’s houses in the pouring cold and the rain, lighting up another cigarette.

Most of us have tried, unsuccessfully to stop smoking.  Some of us have even given up for years and then, inexplicably, started again.  Smoking is an addiction and some people just have addictive personalities.  Even worse, stopping smoking is hard work and we keep giving up our attempts to give up.  The solution to stop smoking and not starting again may be closer than you think.

Check out hypnotherapy and you may just find that you become a non-smoker.  Rick Collingwood is a world renowned therapeutic consultant and has helped thousands with his hypnotherapy techniques.  His hypnosis CD and MP3 sessions are just like having a one-to-one session with the man himself but the big bonus is that you can listen to them anytime you need them 24/7.

In order to stop smoking, you need to learn how to deal with the cravings, how to react in a situation where you would normally light a cigarette and how to actually be a person who doesn’t smoke rather than being a smoker who hasn’t lit a cigarette.  It is all there in our stop smoking programme and costs a lot less than smoking next week.

Connecting with yourself brings freedom

October 30th, 2009

Hypnotherapy presents lasting change to those mindsets looking for release, ultimately bringing them freedom. It is sad but true that many citizens of the world have had to endure hardships that sometimes cause people to lose focus on reality. This is called trauma.

In the case of someone who was abused at a very young age, for instance, that person obviously did nothing to deserve that kind of treatment but years later the trauma of that experience has filtered into their adult life and has defined some strong characteristics. The person believes this is who the truly are.

The opposite is also true for someone who has low self esteem, suicidal tendencies or is introverted. Everyone is born free but circumstance ultimately enslaves us. Hypnotherapy is one of the ways that people can connect with themselves to find that true strength that lies within each of us.

How are some people so successful and others not?

The story of the rich man and the poor man is one as old as civilization itself. How is it possible that two men born in the same place at the same time can have two totally different outcomes to their lives? In a simple explanation it comes down to condition. One person conditioned himself for success and the other for failure.

Now while we may feel that nobody would intentionally condition himself for failure the truth is that all over the world we see people who have done just that. Hypnotherapy is a great way to re-program a person’s belief system through hypnosis. Hypnotherapy can help people lead stronger, fuller lives.

Hypnotherapy is the way forward

October 28th, 2009

The 21st century is a technological age where we have instant access to everything. We have never had such a high standard of living before with good nutrition, skilled medical care and world travel.

The price we pay is stress at incredible levels with pressure to perform at work, at home, in relationships and all sporting activities. Technology has incredible advantages, but in general humans are paying a price that is simply too steep.

We don’t have time to relax; we are always on the run and sooner or later our body rebels. We have stress-related diseases, eating disorders, addictions and failed relationships. This all leads to our self esteem hitting the bottom of the pond. This sounds rather dreadful and depressing yet there is absolutely no reason for our lives to turn into such a shambles.

Take a helping hand

Hypnotherapy is the alternative treatment that takes a holistic approach. It doesn’t simply treat the symptoms of the problem or ailment as so many pharmaceutical drugs do. Hypnotherapy goes to the root of the problem; it opens up the subconscious mind to where the problems started. It does not matter whether you have an eating disorder, or have developed phobias.

Hypnosis works whether you need to get your self confidence back or learning how to handle chronic pain. It is time to take a step back from our technological world and start caring for our precious bodies and minds.

The answers to what ails you or the habits and behavioural patterns you need to change lie within your own mind. Hypnotherapy is the helping hand that we reach out to you. Allow yourself to live life to the fullest and be the best you can possibly be with the help of hypnotherapy.

Prevent your mind from protecting you

October 22nd, 2009

It may sound like a strange statement to make, but it is true. Your subconscious mind protects you and by doing so it can settle you into harmful behavioural patterns. To understand this you need to understand how your subconscious mind works.

The job of your subconscious mind is to protect you, no matter what, even if it has to lie to you. What it does is protect you by clamping down on emotions that can be overwhelming.

So what do you have to do to force your subconscious mind to protect you from living with negative behavioural patterns and doing things that actually harm you?

Force change

Hypnosis is the answer; through hypnosis you give your subconscious mind permission to let your conscious mind override it and make changes. Without hypnosis, your very powerful subconscious mind will not let the conscious make decisions to change destructive behaviour. The subconscious mind will fight to “protect” you at all costs. You can do this in two ways.

You can either come to us for one-on-one hypnotherapy sessions or if possible make use of our self-help option through hypnosis MP3s and CDs. Hypnosis unlocks your unconscious mind, accessing the emotions attached to the addiction or destructive behaviour.

The conscious mind can then make the change. You no longer have to be afraid of risking exposure to success or getting rid of those cigarettes you used as a comfort blanket during times of stress.

With hypnosis, we do not change the events that have lead to your unwanted behaviour. What we do is to change how you feel about what happened and teach you to let your conscious mind make the decisions.

No-one but you is in control

October 21st, 2009

Many people are wary to even try hypnosis or go into hypnotherapy for problems because they do not have enough knowledge about the subject. When a person does not know the facts, they assume many things.

One of the misconceptions is that you will lose control and that you will become privy to every suggestion the hypnotherapist gives them. Hypnosis does not turn people into robots. Unfortunately, too many people think of the fun and silliness of stage acts with hypnosis. You are in control; your own subconscious and conscious mind will make the decision for you and no one else.

Hyper-alert and receptive

What we try to make clients understand is that you are not asleep during a hypnotherapy session. In reality, your conscious and subconscious mind goes into hyper-alert mode while your body is completely relaxed. When you come to a hypnotherapy session you are not weak minded. Indeed your mind is strong enough to want to make changes.

As Hypnotherapists, we need your mind to be wide awake and open. This is so that we can work with you to help you change that destructive behaviour that is causing you such problems. Indeed, the reverse is true: you need to have a strong mind.

Taking that first crucial step into hypnosis is not for the hesitant, these people want to make positive changes. Your hypnosis therapist will guide you each step of the way until you achieve your goal. You will be able to be free of an addiction, to regain confidence, rid yourself of pain or a phobia. It is all possible within your own mind and hypnosis is the key.

Stop being a tobacco statistic

October 20th, 2009

Yes, that is exactly what you are: a tobacco statistic. You are one of over a billion people around the world puffing themselves into various illnesses, early graves each and every day. Oh yes, so many tobacco addicts try and give it up, some try repeatedly with some level of success, but the majority slide back into puffing away again.

To stop smoking is one of the most difficult things in the entire world to do. The reason for this is that cigarettes form a duel addiction. First of all it is a physical addiction to nicotine, and secondly, it is a psychological addiction to cigarettes.

It becomes your crutch; when things go wrong and stress levels go up, people grab a cigarette to help them calm down and cope. Some people often sneer at the inability others have to stop smoking. However, fighting a life-long craving for nicotine is not an easy battle.

Doing it right

People try nicotine patches, chewing nicotine flavoured chewing gum and some get desperate enough to try to go cold turkey. Then they get the waft of cigarette smoke and the walls come tumbling down. There is no reason to put your body and mind through all of this strain, when the safe and drug-free option of using hypnosis to stop smoking is staring you right in the face.

We offer our clients two ways of beating the nicotine imp. You can come for personal hypnotherapy sessions or you can use our self-help CD. You have tried everything else, isn’t it about time you take the chance to give up smoking permanently with the help of hypnosis? No drugs, no cravings, all you need is the power of your own subconscious mind and hypnosis.
