The truth about hypnotherapy: don’t believe everything you see on TV

October 12th, 2009

Ah, hypnosis! That’s that thing where people are made to do embarrassing things to make others laugh, right? You will be surprised to learn that that assumption is 100% wrong. Hypnotherapy needs a major PR overhaul. Thanks to pop culture and the popularity of comedians using hypnosis, people are starting to think that hypnosis is all about entertainment. It has been proven countless times that hypnotherapy can have great value for a variety of problems, so why do these stereotypes persist?

Stage hypnosis involves a theatrical element. The tricks used by stage hypnotists are well documented. From the process of selecting participants, to the tricks they use, the entire show is a cleverly constructed hoax from beginning to end. It’s just a pity that these kinds of acts reflect so badly on hypnosis as a treatment tool.

Hypnotherapy as a scientific tool

The value of hypnotherapy is undeniable. Some of the greatest minds in psychology and medicine have carefully constructed the practice of hypnotherapy to the point that it is a statistical certainty that it will help you, no matter what your problem.

Rick Collingwood is well known as an effective hypnotherapist. Thanks to the internet, he can carry out his valuable healing work for sufferers of a wide variety of ailments all over the world. Visit his website to see for yourself the kinds of problems that his unique hypnotherapy courses can provide. It’s as easy as downloading the right course for you, sitting back and relaxing while Rick takes care of your problem.

Can you think yourself slim?

October 8th, 2009

With so many outrageous products on the market today promising incredible weight loss in merely a few days, people all over the world have been thrown into a weight loss frenzy. Add to that some of the exercise programs being sold for hundreds of pounds that promise a quick fix and you have a recipe for disaster.

While it is true that people today definitely are more health conscious, the methods being offered are offering more pain and short term results than anything else. Popular talk show hosts are the most obvious example of the yo-yo syndrome, where a person loses weight very rapidly and the gains it at an even faster pace.

So is there really a way out there that people can lose weight and keep the weight off? The answer is a resounding yes. Many people have been able to change their eating habits and adopt a regular training regiment which has aided in weight loss, and the change in lifestyle has enabled them to keep the weight off. This is through the medium of hypnosis.

What does hypnosis have to do with weight loss?

For many people obesity is hugely a mental condition that has perpetuated itself in form of overeating which has resulted in obesity. Many people and families have bought into the fast food way of eating and so also gain notorious amounts of weight by eating unhealthily.

By using hypnosis for weight loss the person essentially resigns themselves over to the belief that in order to change a pattern one has to delve deep into the psyche to confront the underlying issue that has caused the weight gain. A qualified and professional hypnotherapist should be employed for this type of program.

Clearing the air on hypnosis

October 7th, 2009

In today’s society, we are a lot more open to the idea of hypnosis. In times past, hypnosis was confused with mesmerisation which has a dark art implication and basically alluded to the person not having any control over the person who placed them under a spell. Modern hypnosis is, of course, completely different and entirely safe.

Hypnosis is a clinically defined medical practice that is widely used today. Much the same way that a doctor who practises medicine need to be accredited, a practitioner in hypnosis or hypnotherapy needs to be accredited so that the people who are under their care are not harmed.

Is it useful for anything today?

In today’s world where we are encouraged to do things like multi task and people no longer take a time out to refresh themselves and compose, hypnosis is very much a needed practice for today’s working person. Hypnosis aids in stress relief which leads to greater productivity of the person who is undergoing the treatment.

Hypnosis is indeed a treatment as it essentially a re-programming of the subconscious mind. It takes years for people to program their subconscious minds with the habits that they have today, and in most cases, one hypnosis session does not bring the desired change the person wants. The good news is that once hypnosis has been successfully administered the person has a new lease on life as phobias are destroyed and addictions overcome.

Letting go of emotional baggage through hypnosis will help you lose weight

September 21st, 2009

For many, the temptation of a piece of cake is impossible to ignore. For many others the craving for fatty junk foods is impossible to overcome. What results is weight gain, and with weight gain comes emotions that are hard to ignore. The more we gain weight, the heavier our emotions weigh us down. These bad feelings make many turn again to inappropriate foods or inappropriate portions of food. This equals weight gain and it is this never-ending cycle that needs to be broken.

Overeating is emotional eating. Emotional baggage has been attributed to eating and eating is attributed to weight gain. Accepting yourself as who you are through hypnosis will help you to lose weight and keep it off. Being able to handle emotions in a constructive way that does not entail overeating can only come from inside us.

Putting hypnosis and weight loss together is as simple as learning to quieten the mind and gain self control. It is this self control that is needed to deal with emotions rather than the food itself.

Self hypnosis deals with the mind rather than the physical state. When the mind is in a relaxed and focused state that comes through hypnosis, we are able to accept positive suggestions more than we could when we are in a fully awake state.

What self hypnosis does is that it helps us

Stop overeating

Eat like any other normal person

Relax

Stay motivated

Feel good about ourselves and our body

Manage our emotions instead of letting them manage us

With hypnosis, you will be able to resolve any issues that are holding you back from changing your eating habits. Letting go of your emotional weight will result in the shedding of your physical weight.

Music enhances hypnotherapy

September 10th, 2009

Music is an integral part of the lives of most humans. It makes us happy or sad; it excites us and soothes us. So it is understandable that music can play an important part in hypnotherapy. The type of music that is most beneficial for hypnotherapy is not normally played over radios as it has such a soothing effect and puts people into a relaxed trance.

This state is called the alpha state in which you can block out surrounding elements. In the alpha state, inner awareness is heightened. To understand the alpha state better it is easily explained to liken it to what happens when someone watches TV for hours.

The time goes by without being aware of outside influences. It is when the person is within this state that the hypnotherapist can do his work.

Session and self-help

Rick Collingwood of Mind Motivation UK and Europe uses music as an integral part of his hypnotherapy treatments. Many people unfortunately can’t fit in sessions for one-on-one therapy, and this is where hypnosis music CDs are invaluable. This means you can either use hypnosis CDs to augment your personal therapy sessions or use them on a self-help basis.

This is a wonderful way to be able to implement stress management or help cure the frustrating problems of insomnia or weight loss, to name but a few. Our modern society is frantic and leads to many problems that diminish our quality of life. Hypnosis CDs and hypnosis music CDs are beneficial and portable, so you can take them with you wherever you go.

Regression hypnotherapy

September 8th, 2009

Hypnotherapy is used to heal the body and mind, and regression hypnosis is one of the techniques used. Regression therapy can be invaluable in dealing with hurts and problems that lay buried deep in our past. Regression hypnotherapy allows a person to access those memories and deal with it, thus turning a negative experience into something positive.

This type of hypnotherapy is used with great success in healing many disorders. You can heal abuse, phobias and bad self-esteem. You can also release creativity and fill emotional voids with the help of hypnotherapy. Rick Collingwood of Mind Motivation UK and Europe is a renowned clinical hypnotherapist. He works with both adults and children in uncovering problems and helping people deal with them.

Be the person you deserve to be

It is important for people to realise that the subconscious accepts every experience, whether it is an actual experience or a perceived one. Thus a mild mannered person who does not like confrontation will develop phobias when he or she perceives a situation to be threatening. Many times adults and children develop problems that do not stem from many years back.

Regression therapy helps them to understand where and how their perception of an experience started, and how to ultimately change their behavioural patterns. They are then able to handle the situation completely differently to how they did before. Regression hypnotherapy helps people cope with work, school and home situations in a calm and confident manner.

Sometimes it takes a single incident. Sometimes things like being bullied, or a teacher harshly criticising your work that can lead to lifelong problems. Regression unlocks the mind and helps the person deal with the incident, rebuilding their confidence and enriching their quality of life.

Hypnosis for motivation

September 3rd, 2009

Motivation is a huge driving force behind anything that anyone does. If there is no motivation to do something, then there is no reason to do it and no drive to do it. Personal motivation is one of the hardest things to keep up with these days. There are so many people competing for jobs, attention and more besides.

Sometimes it is easy to lose yourself as you lose motivation and to lose sight of your dreams and goals. However, it is never too late to turn that motivational loss around and get it all back. Hypnosis can help you get your dreams, life and goals back on track. Rick Collingwood can offer you just the help that you need.

Improve your public speaking through hypnotherapy

April 14th, 2009

Many people across the world suffer from shyness. This shyness may never really affect their lives, but on the other hand it could cripple their quality of life and their career options. Stage fright stems from shyness and so too does a fear of speaking in public. There are many great minds and many greatly talented people in history who have suffered because of their inability to confront and overcome their fear of being in the spotlight, of being in front of a crowd.

Lesley Rae Downing is a little known female vocalist of the twentieth century who suffered from stage fright to the extent that it doomed her international career as a songbird. Do not let a fright of public speaking hamper your climb to success.

Shy or dead scared, hypnotherapy can help

Whether you are simply struggling to concentrate because of your shyness in front of other people or you become paralysed with fright, hypnosis can offer you a way out of the nightmare. Hypnotherapy can help you discover the root of your fear or shyness, help you deal with the cause and the symptoms and improve your public confidence.

This means that you can comfortably confront that boardroom full of executives, get up on stage and sing karaoke or address a crowd of people at a rally without being hampered by shyness or paralysing fear. Give yourself a new lease on life and a chance to greatly improve your public speaking with hypnosis. You can either consult a professional hypnotist or purchase hypnosis CDs online to use in the comfort of your own home.

Not everyone thinks blushing is cute

March 20th, 2009

Many people have been driven to the brink of violence by someone exclaiming “oh how adorably cute you are when you blush beet red”. Blushing is not funny to the person who is plagued by this horrible phenomenon that overtakes them at the most inopportune times.

There is no known psychological theory as to why some people blush excessively. What is well known is that for those who suffer from excessive blushing, the actual fear of blushing becomes an overriding trigger. So when they are put into any situation that they know they are going to be uncomfortable with, the fear starts coiling inside that they are going to make a fool of themselves again and that immediately triggers the first wave of blushing.

This situation starts a loop, where they know they are going to blush and this brings on the blushing. It becomes more intense as their embarrassment mounts until they simply cannot think straight anymore and appear to be a bit of a bumbling fool. Some think this is silly, but for sufferers, it is serious and has huge impact on all the areas of their lives.

The solution is simple

Make today your last beet-red day and make an appointment with a professional hypnotherapist. Within a short time your therapist will work with you by using your subconscious mind to teach you techniques to overcome this problem. Once you can control the embarrassing blushes, your self-confidence and quality of life improves dramatically.

Personal Hypnosis: The Power Lies Within You

March 13th, 2009

Not many of us really think about what goes on in our subconscious, the continuous streams of thought that happens on a level other than the immediate reality in front of your eyes. A good description of the subconscious is that your mind is literally talking to you all the time, whether you are awake or asleep.

Have you ever spared a thought about exactly what your mind is saying to you and about you? Think about a few scenarios; how do you react when you make the smallest mistake? Do you berate yourself for being stupid or a klutz for making that social faux pas?

This can mean that you have deep rooted issues with your self esteem. Are you a shy person who rather stays away from social gatherings as you cringe at the thought of all those ‘strangers’? Again, your self esteem is negative and this is holding you back. What is happening is that the never-ending stream of subconscious thought must be switched from negative to positive.

Use the power you have

Personal hypnosis is literally training the mind to think along new paths. It unlocks the power that you already have within your mind. That power has always been there, but for various reasons it has been locked away. Unlocking this power gives you motivation and will power. What you always thought to be impossible to achieve, no longer will seem just a dream.

The power and benefits of personal hypnosis have been used for many centuries with great success to train the mind to make use of the full potential within that mind. Personal hypnosis is the boost your mind needs to achieve your goals with the power that has been there all along.
