The truth about hypnotherapy: don’t believe everything you see on TV

October 12th, 2009

Ah, hypnosis! That’s that thing where people are made to do embarrassing things to make others laugh, right? You will be surprised to learn that that assumption is 100% wrong. Hypnotherapy needs a major PR overhaul. Thanks to pop culture and the popularity of comedians using hypnosis, people are starting to think that hypnosis is all about entertainment. It has been proven countless times that hypnotherapy can have great value for a variety of problems, so why do these stereotypes persist?

Stage hypnosis involves a theatrical element. The tricks used by stage hypnotists are well documented. From the process of selecting participants, to the tricks they use, the entire show is a cleverly constructed hoax from beginning to end. It’s just a pity that these kinds of acts reflect so badly on hypnosis as a treatment tool.

Hypnotherapy as a scientific tool

The value of hypnotherapy is undeniable. Some of the greatest minds in psychology and medicine have carefully constructed the practice of hypnotherapy to the point that it is a statistical certainty that it will help you, no matter what your problem.

Rick Collingwood is well known as an effective hypnotherapist. Thanks to the internet, he can carry out his valuable healing work for sufferers of a wide variety of ailments all over the world. Visit his website to see for yourself the kinds of problems that his unique hypnotherapy courses can provide. It’s as easy as downloading the right course for you, sitting back and relaxing while Rick takes care of your problem.

How you can stop smoking without trying

October 9th, 2009

There is no denying the fact that smoking is a curse. Once you start, you might wonder if you will ever be able to give up. According to statistics released by the Office of National Statistics in the UK, 66% of smokers say they want to quit. That’s crazy, so many people are struggling with a habit they do not want or need in their lives.

There are so many benefits when you stop smoking! The money saved, the health benefits and the social benefits (no more standing in the cold for a smoke) are well documented and often talked and written about. The sad truth is that many of the mainstream methods for quitting smoking simply don’t work. The sheer willpower required to stop smoking can be just too much. The various patches, gums and nicotine replacement therapies only have limited success.

Stop smoking with hypnotherapy

Countless ex-smokers have kicked the habit successfully after trying a course of hypnosis. There is a large volume of scientific evidence to support the fact that smokers who try hypnosis soon become ex-smokers, and best of all, they stay that way! Sceptics may argue that the huge success of hypnotherapy on smokers is some sort of placebo effect, but the evidence points to the fact that a hypnotherapy session with a registered professional can shift the way you think about smoking.

Rick Collingwood has been helping smokers to stop smoking for many years. The large number of glowing testimonials is evidence of the success of his tried and tested methods.

Can you think yourself slim?

October 8th, 2009

With so many outrageous products on the market today promising incredible weight loss in merely a few days, people all over the world have been thrown into a weight loss frenzy. Add to that some of the exercise programs being sold for hundreds of pounds that promise a quick fix and you have a recipe for disaster.

While it is true that people today definitely are more health conscious, the methods being offered are offering more pain and short term results than anything else. Popular talk show hosts are the most obvious example of the yo-yo syndrome, where a person loses weight very rapidly and the gains it at an even faster pace.

So is there really a way out there that people can lose weight and keep the weight off? The answer is a resounding yes. Many people have been able to change their eating habits and adopt a regular training regiment which has aided in weight loss, and the change in lifestyle has enabled them to keep the weight off. This is through the medium of hypnosis.

What does hypnosis have to do with weight loss?

For many people obesity is hugely a mental condition that has perpetuated itself in form of overeating which has resulted in obesity. Many people and families have bought into the fast food way of eating and so also gain notorious amounts of weight by eating unhealthily.

By using hypnosis for weight loss the person essentially resigns themselves over to the belief that in order to change a pattern one has to delve deep into the psyche to confront the underlying issue that has caused the weight gain. A qualified and professional hypnotherapist should be employed for this type of program.

Losing weight through hypnosis

September 28th, 2009

There are many overweight and obese people who have tried and failed in their attempts to lose weight. Traditional methods are at times not suitable, or don’t produce the required results. If this is the case perhaps it is time to consider hypnosis as a means to losing weight.

Not actually a science, hypnosis works by means of attaining a comfortable state of being which, in turn, opens the doors to successfully reaching of one’s goals.

The first technique in hypnosis teaches visualisation. If you are able to visualise yourself removing unwanted weight effectively, this creates a mental image in your mind. The second technique works through subconscious messages.

Hypnosis is effortless to follow, and you don’t have to use too much effort in succeeding your goal.

Stress is a common reason for many experiencing trouble in losing weight, and yet, through hypnosis, stress can be lessened and replaced. There is nothing mysterious about hypnotism for losing weight. The mechanisms used in hypnosis focus on the state of mind and attitudes we have toward losing weight.

The first thing to consider is that a person has to be willing to - or at least be open to - the idea of losing weight. If one is using the services of a therapist they will first examine motivations and then help you come to the realisation and acceptance that it your behaviour that needs modifying.

When this is possible, then the desire to do what is suggested while under hypnosis will be there. Once acceptance is in place the physical act of losing weight can begin. A therapist will implant positive suggestions that work on the psyche of those being hypnotised, which result in a desire to engage in good eating behaviour.

Hypnotism has the ability to help you quit smoking

September 22nd, 2009

Hypnosis has been around for centuries, and has been used as a form of healing and mental help dating back to the mid 1700s. Therapists using hypnosis to help client stop smoking using rational behaviour techniques are able to help the process of stopping naturally, safely and effectively.

We weren’t born to smoke and stopping is not as hard as most people would believe it to be. It takes a long time to form the habit of smoking, and the difficulty in stopping comes with the process of swapping one habit for another. We find it easier to continue with what is familiar than we do to change to something that has now become unfamiliar. In this case, the ‘unfamiliar’ is not smoking.

A hypnotist will take you into a trance state. While in this state we are suggestible to new ideas, behaviours and experiences. Understanding the information you need before you undergo hypnotism will ensure that your mind is ready to accept the suggestion of being a non smoker.

Once your subconscious has accepted this suggestion there is a shift in perception. You are now no longer a smoker and, as such, you will respond to the world the same way non-smokers do. You will no longer feel you being deprived when you see someone smoking because this is no longer what you want.

In most cases, hypnotism is a quick process requiring only one or two sessions with a therapist. You do however need a good support system, and this is crucial if you don’t want to regress back into smoking again.

Self hypnosis is possible too, and you can easily learn how to guide yourself into a state where quitting smoking is possible.

Letting go of emotional baggage through hypnosis will help you lose weight

September 21st, 2009

For many, the temptation of a piece of cake is impossible to ignore. For many others the craving for fatty junk foods is impossible to overcome. What results is weight gain, and with weight gain comes emotions that are hard to ignore. The more we gain weight, the heavier our emotions weigh us down. These bad feelings make many turn again to inappropriate foods or inappropriate portions of food. This equals weight gain and it is this never-ending cycle that needs to be broken.

Overeating is emotional eating. Emotional baggage has been attributed to eating and eating is attributed to weight gain. Accepting yourself as who you are through hypnosis will help you to lose weight and keep it off. Being able to handle emotions in a constructive way that does not entail overeating can only come from inside us.

Putting hypnosis and weight loss together is as simple as learning to quieten the mind and gain self control. It is this self control that is needed to deal with emotions rather than the food itself.

Self hypnosis deals with the mind rather than the physical state. When the mind is in a relaxed and focused state that comes through hypnosis, we are able to accept positive suggestions more than we could when we are in a fully awake state.

What self hypnosis does is that it helps us

Stop overeating

Eat like any other normal person

Relax

Stay motivated

Feel good about ourselves and our body

Manage our emotions instead of letting them manage us

With hypnosis, you will be able to resolve any issues that are holding you back from changing your eating habits. Letting go of your emotional weight will result in the shedding of your physical weight.

Teaching children healthy eating habits

September 14th, 2009

Children are notorious for not wanting to eat the healthier foods in life. Many a parent knows and has gone through the struggle to teach their children the value of healthy eating. The one bane of every parent’s job is to get their child or children to eat their vegetables.

Well, you don’t have to fear meal times anymore. You can easily and effectively teach your children good eating habits with hypnosis. These habits will stick with them into adulthood and help build a happy, fit and healthy future adult. All you need is the help of hypnotherapy on your side. Yes, hypnotherapy can really help your child make healthy food choices and enjoy exercise.

Helping the little ones

Children often get their own way because parents are tired, they don’t want to be the bad guy and they cannot fight with their little ones day-in and day-out. The one huge aspect of a child’s life, that many parents struggle with is food. How do you get your child to make their own healthy food and snack choices? How do you get them to enjoy vegetables and exercise?

The answer is simple; you employ the help of hypnotherapy. You can either invest in a hypnotherapy CD or book consultations with a trained and qualified hypnotherapist. Rick Collingwood offers you both consultation and valuable home-use CDs to help your children eat better and more healthily. Your child’s own subconscious mind will be used to help them alter their bad food choices and their dislike of exercise.

To top it all off, hypnotherapy is completely safe. Unlike constantly fighting with your child and reaffirming your role as a dictator and oppressor, hypnotherapy is subtle. It is subtle yet very effective, and nobody walks away unhappy as the good or bad guy in the story.

Have you thought about hypnotherapy and weight loss?

September 11th, 2009

Obesity is a condition that affects the lives and health of millions of people across the world. At any given time of day or night there are untold people battling to shed those extra pounds, and, at the same time, there are many people losing the eternal battle against weight gain.

Of course, everyone climbs on the bandwagon. You see diets, diet information and promises of great weight loss drugs everywhere around you daily. All these diets have varying results and some can be quite dangerous to the health. If you are one of those many people who are disillusioned with the results of trying several diets, maybe it’s time to consider hypnotherapy.

How does it work?

Hypnotherapy works through using your own mind, by teaching your mind to reprogram itself step-by-step into different behaviour patterns to create paths that do not include old and destructive eating habits. It works by putting the client into a deep-sleep state that makes the subconscious mind accessible. This is where the work of changing thought patterns happens.

During the hypnotherapy sessions, the thought patterns are reinforced until the mind accepts the new thought patterns, and the body will slowly lose the unwanted weight. The great thing about hypnotherapy is that it does not involve starvation diets or drugs.

It is natural and painless, and anyone going for hypnotherapy sessions is completely put at ease. To get help with the problem of weight loss, contact Mind Motivation UK and Europe for an appointment to set you on the path to leading a healthy, slimmer life.

Regression hypnotherapy

September 8th, 2009

Hypnotherapy is used to heal the body and mind, and regression hypnosis is one of the techniques used. Regression therapy can be invaluable in dealing with hurts and problems that lay buried deep in our past. Regression hypnotherapy allows a person to access those memories and deal with it, thus turning a negative experience into something positive.

This type of hypnotherapy is used with great success in healing many disorders. You can heal abuse, phobias and bad self-esteem. You can also release creativity and fill emotional voids with the help of hypnotherapy. Rick Collingwood of Mind Motivation UK and Europe is a renowned clinical hypnotherapist. He works with both adults and children in uncovering problems and helping people deal with them.

Be the person you deserve to be

It is important for people to realise that the subconscious accepts every experience, whether it is an actual experience or a perceived one. Thus a mild mannered person who does not like confrontation will develop phobias when he or she perceives a situation to be threatening. Many times adults and children develop problems that do not stem from many years back.

Regression therapy helps them to understand where and how their perception of an experience started, and how to ultimately change their behavioural patterns. They are then able to handle the situation completely differently to how they did before. Regression hypnotherapy helps people cope with work, school and home situations in a calm and confident manner.

Sometimes it takes a single incident. Sometimes things like being bullied, or a teacher harshly criticising your work that can lead to lifelong problems. Regression unlocks the mind and helps the person deal with the incident, rebuilding their confidence and enriching their quality of life.

Bulimia and hypnosis

June 6th, 2009

There are two types of bulimia and mostly it is women who suffer from this obsessive eating disorder.

Purging is the first type of bulimia and non–purging the second.

When a person who is bulimic eats a large meal, they eat and eat until they feel stuffed. High calorie foods and sweets or chocolates are usually the food they crave.

Realisation of how much they have eaten sends them to the bathroom to purge by self inducing vomiting. Other bulimics may take diuretics or laxatives to bring about weight loss.

Non-purging is used by a person who will set up specific exercises but taking them to extreme and causing an amount of pain to stop weight gain.

Bulimia is an obsessive eating disorder which can ruin a person’s life and it is found in both adults and teenagers. Many professional people who are constantly in the public eye tend to be bulimic but hide it from friends and family.

A lot of people with eating disorders come from families who do not express emotions which stops them from speaking openly about emotion.

Whatever the reason child or adult continues to abuse herself or himself in the form binging and purging or excess exercise.

Hypnosis can help a person to increase their self confidence and self esteem. We at Mind Motivations can offer you relaxed hypnosis sessions with leading hypnotherapist Rick Collingwood. Rick has introduced self hypnosis MP3 CD’s to use at home. All the CDs have been recorded to help a person return to good health in mind and body.
