If somebody new to hypnosis were to ask what the difference was between a ‘hypnotic state’ and the normal waking state then the answer is generally that there is no definitive line between the two because a hypnotic state is just a slight alteration to the level of consciousness.
Another example of an alteration to consciousness is dreaming. People accept dreaming as it is considered a natural occurrence while sleeping.
Day dreaming is another altered state in which both adults and children are able to take part and for a few moments normal life is left behind.
Hyper focusing is a person’s intent level of concentration when there is an important task to do that needs noise or distractions placing in the background. The modern terminology you will hear is that they are in the ‘zone’.
Hypnosis is very similar to daydreaming.
At Mind Motivations some of our clients have stated they were a little disappointed at first with the ‘hypnotic state’ as they thought that they would feel as though they were floating on air.
At Mind Motivations, hypnotherapist Rick Collingwood can use hypnosis as an alternative treatment for certain symptoms and disorders.
It can be appropriately used as an adjunct in some cases for some biological or psychotherapeutic techniques.
If you require any further information or want to ask any questions at all, no matter how insignificant you may feel they are, please do get in touch and the staff at Mind Motivations will be more than happy to help.
